Luxury Dog Dressing Gowns: A Guide to Matching Sets for You and Your Hound
A good dog dressing gown isn't fancy dress — it's the same idea as your own robe, scaled down. Fabric, fit, and finish all matter as much for a hound gown as they do for the human piece it's paired with.
At Gown & Hound, every hound gown is cut from the same premium fabrics as our human collection — soft Lyocell twill, Blackwatch tartan, or paisley jacquard — finished with an engraved brass crest and contrast piping. It's built to sit well on a dog that spends its evenings by the fire, not in a fancy-dress box.
What makes a dressing gown "luxury" for a dog
- Fabric weight and drape. Ours run the same gsm as our human gowns, so they hang rather than bunch.
- Considered detailing. A brass crest, contrast piping, and a proper cuff — not elastic and Velcro.
- Fit by breed, not guesswork. Sized XS through XL, cut for real dog proportions rather than a single stretch-to-fit shape.
How matching sets work
Each of our three collections — Ashbourne, Balmoral, and Cavendish — comes as a human gown, a hound gown, or a matching set of both, so you and your dog are dressed from the same fabric, in the same colourway, at the same time.
